Tools and Resources from One PTO Parent to Another
I am so excited that you’ve found this little piece of the internet where we share our experiences to help you get the most out of your parent-teacher organization experience. When I agreed to be president of our PTO, I jumped online to find out exactly how one goes about filling that role. Now that I am on the other side of my presidency, I want to share my tools and resources (from one PTO parent to another).
Summer is a Great Time to Get Ahead
It might feel tempting to push all your PTO concerns and plans off until August, but July is actually a great time to get started on your calendar and back to school communications. The more you can draft now while no one is thinking about school, the easier it will be when you’re everyone’s favorite sounding board!
Tools of the Trade
What tools are you using to sell tickets/merchandise? How do you send newsletters out to families? Do you have a plan for communicating with teachers? I trialed a lot of options and found several digital tools and resources that made my life MUCH easier.
How to Bring a Walk-Fundraiser to Your School
My new series will take you through how I started from scratch (so you don’t have to)! Follow along for a start to finish look at how I crafted a fundraiser that funded our entire year (and actually raised $5k over our goal). From one PTO parent to another, this might be the BEST way to raise money and create community engagement.
